Jung led us on journey of self-discovery while creating a safe venue to identify, assess and share those details of our lives that make us who we are – that drive us… and sometimes hold us back. Jung’s students left his class with not only a greater understanding of ourselves, but with a deeper appreciation for and connection to those with whom we shared the experience.
The lessons we learned in Jung’s course were neither precise nor programmatic – they couldn’t be as the lessons we needed to learn there were different for each of us. They could be messy and they could be painful, but such is always the case where growth is involved. This is the first lesson we learned from Jung – and the lesson that enabled every other: the liberating power of vulnerability. Vulnerability opens the door to personal connections that go beyond the superficial. Only by embracing vulnerability, by persevering when taking risks that make us uncomfortable, do we grow as individuals. And Jung leads by example, often laying his soul to bear as new topics arise. In doing so, he creates an environment for his students that encourages open and candid discussions, allowing the concepts to be explored more fully.
